Product Description

The Brixton Academy. A wool brown cut pile runner and dark brown border

This is a beautifully soft and luxurious cut pile stair runner, made from 100% wool and finished with a neat whipped edge. It comes as a stair runner as standard, but can also be made with a cotton border or turned into a rug on request.

Designed to bring warmth, texture and comfort to any staircase, the cut pile finish gives it a fuller, softer feel underfoot while still offering the durability needed for everyday use. The natural qualities of wool make it an excellent choice for the home, combining comfort, resilience and timeless style.

Its elegant appearance works well in both classic and contemporary interiors, adding a more refined and welcoming feel to the space.

It is intended as a straight runner for straight stairs and looks especially impressive once fitted.

Compared with many cheaper alternatives online, this is a higher-quality runner made from superior materials for a richer finish and longer-lasting performance.

How to order

As a rule of them and for guidance only;
Just count your steps and order accordingly
1 step will require 0.5m length of runner to cover it.

Over 6m long and your runner may come in 2 sections for ease of transport.
It will make NO difference to the fitting however, if you want it in one section please contact us before ordering. It takes a little longer and costs a little more.

Please note well

Pictures displayed are a guide only, as colours can vary dependent on your monitor/tablet/phone - we highly recommend you request a sample piece before you order to make sure you are happy - we send them, out free.

This is a stair runner. Therefore the ends are not whipped as they will need to be cut to be fitted. If you want a floor runner with whipped and taped ends then please get in touch.

Fitting

A straight polypropylene, man-made fibre runner can be fitting yourself. Here is a great video that explains how to do that: https://youtu.be/YlXagjGdv8w

How to measure for a stair runner

Winding stairs, platforms and landings

A straight runner won't fit on a curved or winding stair. You need a special piece cut for that. You can order these on the left but please be aware we are going to need a template sent to us in the post in order for us to cut them to the correct size.

On a final note

On a final (final!) note, please be aware that a lot of time, cost and care goes into creating your runner. Regardless of where you purchased it from, if you have bought it on a whim with the intention of sending it back if it isn’t quite right, We urge you to reconsider, cancel your order and just request some samples so you can be sure of your purchase. We send them out free.

This is a bespoke, hand-made item and we are not liable to accept returns. Please make yourself aware of the legal guidance under UK law: https://www.gov.uk/accepting-returns-and-giving-refunds.  However, we will accept returns and issue refunds on runners of 50cm to 60cm width and over 4m in length.
